Excuse me fellows, but I'm an el-dumb-O when it comes to car audio.
I not trying to entertain the neighborhood with my future sound system, so I plan to get small qaulity amps with a qaulity 10" sub and a quality set of components along with a nice deck to have good sound quality from the inside.
Question is, how do I make a nice install by hiding two small amps and a 10" sub, so I can use my trunk and protect my gear? I have no desire to show my equipment off.
I believe I could install the sub in a stealth box but I'm unsure to how amps are hiddenly installed. Can the amps be installed into some type of protection box with a cooling fan or how about the area under the trunk mat where the spare tire is. Maybe on the spilt folding seats with a box like cover, ya think?
I plan to figure out a view of how I want the install and bring it to a shop and get a pro job done on it. If anyone could help me on this matter it would greatly be appreciated. This board kicks butts! Thanks...

What type of vehicle do you have? You absolutely can mount amps inside a covered box, as long as you have a small cooling fan with an opening on the other end of the box to allow proper airflow over the amps. They also can be installed under seats..

Easy as can be.
My first thought that comes to mind, loading panels. Here is Chris' loading panel install. (http://www.geocities.com/geolemon/install-first-civic.jpg) It will give you an idea of what a loading panel is. It will amplify the output by reducing cancellation in the trunk as well.
My suggestion is a small enclosure, tucked against the back seat with a loading panel. Make the loading panel fit the seat end of the trunk so it looks like a blank wall and carpet it the same as the trunk. Use wood instead of plexi though, as it is cheaper and you aren't trying to show it off. Idealy the panel would be out further than the rear deck speakers are, so the sound is channeled out the holes where the deck speakers were (eliminate them ;) ).
Hiding the amps is easy, just drop them behind the loading panel.
now you have a wall that looks like it belongs there, it will protect the sub and hide the sub/amps.

Oh I see, that makes since. Its all hidden behind a wooden wall with carpet to match the trunk interior. The equipment can be reached by the split folding seats to have access to the amps and sub or is it all in one big enclosure box?
I tried to use your link for a view but its recently down for the moment.
When I go to the shop, I'll tell them what you told me and they'll probably know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the good info sandt38, appreciate it very much!

Hmmm, it doesn't work, but it is the correct link.
Let's try this...
http://www.geocities.com/geolemon/piclinks.htm
go to the second link on the page titled...The first install I had in my Civic and select it.
Actually I suggest the amps on either the outside of the box, or in the leftover space there.
