These amps achieve total efficiencies about 80 percent and employ an unregulated power supply, offering power with less strain on a vehicle’s electrical system, according to the company. A compact unitary cast alloy chassis provides ample cooking for the efficient circuitry and is monitored by JL’s Advanced Rollback System to eliminate thermal shut-down events, the company stated.

Beneath a removable control cover, the XD’s feature studio-grade signal processing with fully variable crossover filters. Also included are JL Audio’s noise-killing, flexible differential-balanced inputs with remote level control capabilities via the optional HD-RLC remove level control. The three models now shipping include the XD600/1, a Class D Monoblock Subwoofer Amplifier (suggested retail price of $449.95); the XD400/4 Full-Range, Class D 2/3/4 Channel Amplifier (also $449.95) and the XD600/6 Full-Range, Class D 3/4/5/6 Channel Amplifier ($549.95). The company also plans to introduce five-channel and two-channel models in the future.
