Alpine Type R Ported Box Size

Hey guys. I've got 2 Alpine SWR-1241D's which are the old 300 RMS versions and i will be putting them in a ported box. Now the specs for this sub say 0.75-1.75 cu ft per sub. This will be going in a 97 eclipse (hatch + i don't got a whole ton of room). So what size should the box be for both in total and what frequency should the box be tuned to? Ive searched the forums and i found a lot of different sizes and tuning frequencies, i'm just not sure which to go with? Thanks!

between 3.5-4ft^3 for both, tuned between 32-37hz, depending on what you want out of the subs...

How much power do you have available? If you're a littl short on power, shoot for a bigger box in order to make it more efficient.

I'd go 4ft^3 at 35hz.

Only 600W RMS.

Im very sure 4ft^3 will not fit in my car at all. I'll be lucky if 3.5ft^3 will fit LOL

yeah my max while being able to get my spare tire out was 3.3^3 net.

you need to measure out the max dimensions of the box then you can go from there.

For a 4ft^3 box you're going to need ~5.5ft^3 total...the 4ft^3 is before any port/sub displacement.

You don't need to use one...I never do. It makes the build easier to do and allows you to use a single large port...which I visually like.

Depends on the volume of the box, what it's going to be tuned to, and the overall dimensions of the box(determines what dimensions your port opening will be).

I design boxes for a small fee, if you're interested, send me a PM. I've never had someone unhappy with my designs...

okay well im very sure 5.5 ft^3 will definitely not fit. I think i can fit 3.5 ft^3 max before any port/sub displacement. Would this be okay?

And alright, no divider then. And someone here is building me the box (i live in canada!) but thanks for the offer!

thats a pretty large range, you might want to decide if you're wanting more low frequencies (32) or something that will have a lot of output (37)

yeah 35 is where my new setup is tuned to, my last setup was tuned to 33. if you pick from either 32-35 you'll be pretty good.
