JL 10W7 vs 12W7 vs Focal KX33 vs Fi 12

Ok, i'm sure this has been discussed before but...I'm redoing my entire subwoofer setup and am looking to go high end. The car is a 2000 Nissan Altima. Let's assume that whatever sub i put in will be properly matched with an amp (ie 750rms sub 750 rms amp) Let's also assume that whatever sub i get will have a custom box made to the proper specs for the sub. I am looking for mainly for a sub with great sound quality which i can turn up every now and again to rip someones head off. I listen to mixed genres with harder music predominating. Please DO NOT reply with any brand specific biases. I know there are lots of people out there who will have nothing but JL. I am looking for ups and downs to each sub so i can make an informed decision as to which one is for me. FYI i am running focals up front and type r's in the rear.

i would scratch out the 10 if you can have room for a 12. with a proper box both will perform for sq while the 12 can hit lower and louder. i havent heard the Focal in a car before, but its performance in a 3 walled room was surprisingly good for sq.

im partial to the JL's for good output without being too power hungry and while maintaining sq.

havent heard the fi but they seem to get good reviews and alot of recc's

Right up there with the JL W7 10"

Great price here. Will take 750wrms but doesn't need it in the right enclosure.

A real beastly 10" sub. Designed after the TC Sounds TC-2000 but quite a few upgrades. It's 3 ohm SVC.

Pretty nice SPL/SQ mix subwoofer. I have a pair of BNIB 15's if you know someone that wants monster output while sounding great.

A low cost, nice sounding subwoofer. A pair running on 750wrms+ would be decent output and could blend well with the front stage.

So many options really. Up to you to reasearch and decide.

Please let me also say that i'm looking for stamina out of my sub here. I think i'd prefer to spend a little more and get something that i'll have down the road. I also forgot to mention that i'd like to do only one sub. Still looking for some more feedback on Fi and Focal. Thanks for all the insight so far.

I prefer the W6 as opposed to the W7, not as bottom heavy and reproduces nicely across the sub bass frequencies. I have only heard the 27KX and Utopia 8" focal woofers and both sound very nice but are also very pricey. In both cases, search around and you can find woofers that sound as good or almost as good for less money.
The Image Dynamics IDQv3 and Arc Audio Arc12 subs come to mind. The FiQ is also a nice sounding woofer.

I have the 15inch version of that MB Quart sub and it's SQ is pretty good. It sounds better in an enclosure that's larger than what's recommended.
