This amp has done rated power @ 14.4V(1ohm) and the 3000 watt amp, that has two 1500D boards, did rated power @ 14.4V(2ohm). They are very strong budget amps. One guy I know from FL is running the AP30001D @ .7ohm & 16V. It has been taking it now for several months. Most of the BXI1206 & 1606 I've seen lasted no more than 3 months before going into protect and no longer functioning. It's the OP's call.

If you want a Maxxsonics product...the MB Quart DSC1500.1 for $199 shipped would be alright I guess. A refurb Soundstream PCA1500D for $169 could be a decent way to go.

JoshParsons84 is infamous around these parts

Volfenhag ZX-500. For about $100. Says it's 1000 watts in 2 channels. That'd be about 500 goin to each sub?

Negative. Amp does 50x4, 100x2. Not clean power at all either.

wow, fail, like bad.

Scooter it's important to take into consideration the impedance of the subs. With the dual 2's you'd want around 1600w at 1 ohm. If you're getting the dual 4's you'd want 1600 at 2 (or 1/2).
That will be a big factor in determining what type of amp will work best.

That Volfenhag is hilarious. Rated at 1240 watts but puts out 65X4 or 100X2...

What is the coil config on those Comp VRs?

a decent budget amp for those subs would be a brutus bxi-1610d.

I disagree. I've seen too many Hifonics amp fail or have to be sent back within 3 months of being new for repair or replacement. Of the bxi1206, 1606, 1208, & 1608 that I've installed at one time or another...two went back within 3 months of being new, while another died just before the 1yr warranty was up.

I didn't exactly have the 1610d but i had 2 of the 1608D (3 if you want to count the replacement i got) and i would never recommend it again... First one blew in a few mins of playing, about 2 mins... everything was hooked up correctly considering there was 2 amps hooked up and both were for sure right lol BAD BRUTUS! haha

12" Kicker Comp Vr Best Value???

I am thinking of going with four 12" kicker comp vr's and running around a 1500watt RMS momoblock amp at 2 ohms. i can get the comp vr's on ebay for around $90 each. I have previously had 2 kicker comp vr's running on a jbl BP600.1 and it worked very well for years. I have not been in the car audio, well atleast the sub game for about 5 years, so i am wondering if there is something better out there for the price now a days??
Thanks,
Scott

best value 1500rms @ 2 OHM for kicker comp VR?

I am planning on getting four 12" kicker comp vr subs, and am looking for suggestions on a halfway descent amp to run around 1500RMS @ 2 ohm. I have had a jbl BP600.1 (on two kicker comp vr) that worked well for years, a Hifonics brutus 1500(2 kicker comp vr) that sucked and blew up within a week, and an MTX 1500.1D(2 xtant 10's) which worked well but i think is a little expensive plus i do not want to run a 0 guage power/ground this time around. Any suggestions or help would greatly be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott
