^ thanks. It is suppossed to arrive today. I will let you know what the Depth is.

I found a relatively nearby store that has the SD3-10 subwoofer for me to try or purchase ( hopefully ) they said there might be other subs that will fit. I think they must be getting a better discount from other mfg's
( Hertz,Dayton,JL, Kicker, Sony, and a few other brands ) because they really were not pushing Sundown.

Hi, thanks again
. I will check them out.

The box showed up late today.
Looks Like 4.25" Depth ( on the edges ) center is a little deeper just over
5".

I will have to check Sundown SD3-10 ( full specs ) to see how big the magnet is.
Does anyone know what the dimensions on the magnet are ( diameter of the magnet )

Looks like massive and earthquake would def. fit.

Contact Sundown tech support for the size of the magnet.

I tried to find it online, but no luck yet. Local store is also suppossed to have an SD3-10 for me to try tomorrow ( I am not confident they will have it though ) i think they are BS'n me to try to sell me something else. I will post what I find soon..

Found the measurements

http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/woo...ts/SD-3-10.jpg

Looks like the Motor/Magnet is just over 3/4" in from the cut-out
I will check it in the morning and stop at the audio store to see if they have the SD3
or ordering it !

I think i am going to take a chance and order the Sundown today
SD3-10 ( D4 )
either New OEM, or B stock.

*Went to local store- they only have 12" and 8" in stock
and suggested I try these instead;
Focal Flax 10" ( I think these are deeper mounting than the Sundown )
RSB-250 series Focal might fit
Sony ? why
Hertz
or JL-TW3 ( they really were pushing these )
depth making it, just have to trim the box
They said the JL TW3 - is the best solution for 0.70 shallow box
Focal Flax 2nd ( which Will not fit )
then Sony/Hertz....

No sale for them..... and no sub today for me

went to their sister store today ( 9/26/17 )
they suggested
an ALPINE or MTX FPR10-02

** i know old MTX used to be nice, is this one any good
I am looking to improve upon the Kenwood Excelon **

or just get the SD3-10 Sundown DVC4

Last call for help and I promise I will post pics of the finished product.

Thanks again

Update. Ordered the Sundown!
Let's hope I measured correctly,

I received the SD3-10 Sundown today! finally.
Had to modify the Box slightly to get it to fit.

I still have to tune/re-adjust my Amp a little.
But listened to a few songs and it Most Definetly hits harder
than the small Kenwood Excelon I had in my truck.

The box fits under the back seat ( takes a little more room ) than what I had.

But first impression! I am happy with the Sundown.

Thank you for your help !!! greatly appreciate it..

Might have to start a new thread.
Much improvement with the Sundown and new enclosure !!!
will send pic, how do you post pics though ??

Now, I might change the front first and then possibly rear speakers
just to clean up the sound a little for the mid and highs.

Any 6x8 suggestions. ( factory- Ford/Sony system )
I have had Boston Acoustics / Polk / Fosgate / infinity & Alpine
all in the past over the years..

Upload them to a hosting site, post links to the photos here in your thread...hint- Photobucket sucks these days.

I would do 6.5" speakers with a simple adapter in the 6x8 holes- better choices, better performance and sound. Budget for speakers?

^ i always preferred round too for doors.
not too concerend about budget, just likely keeping the sony/factory radio to power them. I also have A-pillar Tweeters can change or leave them too.

and thanks for the pic info, I will get some loaded up

Crutchfield
Suggested
5-1/4 JL Audio C1-525x
or 6x8 JL audiod C1-570x

:/
