Actually, the reason it looks confusing is because the diagrams posted put each individual coils in series rather than wiring each invidual subs in series, then both subs in series. Technically, it would work.

It works the same as having 2 dual 2-ohm subs, but all the coils are on 1 sub. So with quad 2-ohm, you could 1 load of .5 or 8 ohms, or 2 loads of 1 or 4 ohms.

No, you would need a 4-ohm SVC and a 2-ohm DVC, OR a 2-SVC and a 4-ohm DVC. Either way, its not really a great idea. Just get the same subs.

Is It Possible?

I have (4) 2 ohm single voice coil Boston Pro subs, a Fosgate 1500bd (Mono Amp) and i am trying to wire the 4 subs to a 4 ohm load. Is it possible? My current 1500bd cuts off when i wire the subs at a 2 ohm load, it doesn't cut out when they are wired at am 8 ohm load but the subs don't sound right, any help would be greatly appreciated.

The sub can be wired for 2 or 8 ohms only.

Your amp does

150x2 at 4 ohms stereo
300x2 at 2 ohms stereo
600x1 at 4 ohms mono

The most you can get out of this amp is 300 watts wiring the sub at 2 ohms.

You can wire your 4 subs for .5, 2, or 8 ohms only. If it cuts out at 2 ohms, then you should double check your settings (gains) and resistance of the subs (ohms).
