iLX007 wiring

I recently went to a local shop and asked for the carplay radio. They installed an ics-x7hd instead with a bypass that never worked. They ordered the iLX-007 and exchanged heads and I asked for no bypass, but then could not get into settings. They took it out and changed something so now I can get into settings if I tap the foot brake but that is intermittent. I am trying to get the schematic so I can fix it myself. I really do not want a bypass, just proper operation. The vehicle is a 2006 Scion xB. Thanks in advance.

some of those you can hook the park wire straight to ground and will work, for others the brake must be turned on and off a set number of times to work correctly.

I usually just install a toggle switch inline of the park wire to ground, and basically do whatever little procedure required with the switch as opposed to the brake in order to allow those locked functions.

My installer put in a nice little rocker switch that allows me to access the settings without setting the parking brake.
It works great and I've never had a problem with the switch or the iLX-007.

You may want to take the vehicle back to the shop and have a better qualified installer go over the install to make sure it is installed correctly.

Matter of fact I had been a complainer of "maps" on my Alpine with Car Play...preferring Google Maps which, alas, isn't an app on Car Play. This weekend I was in Albany NY for a family get together and had to use Apple maps to get to the airbnb my daughter got us. Maps was awesome...directions were perfect with no drop outs, as in my home area but then again I live in the hinterlands of Northern NY, and spot on directions exactly to the bnb. I'm not sure if there was an update to maps when the latest iOS was released or I finally got to use it in an area with good cell coverage, etc.

Otherwise I love my iLX-007 and Car Play...all my music, podcasts, Audible audio books, phone calls, text messages and backup camera run through Car Play and my iPhone 6+.

Good luck and keep us informed.
