New box design (pics inside)
I posted earlier about a box design with angle cut. Well I
changed my mind and am going with a simple rectangular box mainly cuz my trunk space is limited, and because this will be easier to build. The box will sit up right (sub facing up, 90deg), and will be a sealed design. Here are the pics and diagrams/dimensions. The amp: Alpine MRP-M350 The sub: Alpine SWR-1041D 10" Using this box size, I will have room for another 10" side by side. ![]()

i did similar to that, inner dimensions were 12" x 12" x 8", .75 cubic feet, .66 after displacement. Still have to finish the trunk sound deadening so I can finish the install so it won't look so bad. Sounds pretty good if you ask me but I don't have much to compare it to

Whoops, heh, you're right Duffrey.
The front view's total height should be 10" not 13". Thx... ![]() Noggin01 , how do you mean 12" x 12" x 8" yields .75cubic-ft? 12x12x8 = .67 cubic-ft Last edited by Gonad; 07-15-2003 at 08:58 PM. |

bwahahah **** you're right gonad, 8/12 = 2/3 not 3/4. Oh well, still in the recommended specs
Thanks for pointing that out to me.... makes me wonder why I've taken 4 calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations classes. And yeah, thats a factory sub (don't know the size, I thought 8" but someone else said its actually 6.5... and there's actually an amp in that small basket below it), but its not hooked up. That clip hanging down was used with a LOC converter for a temporary sub I put in the car. The ONLY reason that sub is in there is because my limited tool set does not include a deep well socket that can get those nuts off to get the sub out. It WILL come out though.... oh yes... it will |

actually... the depth of the box MIGHT be 9".... but I think its 8". Doesn't matter though, there isn't any noticible difference between those two box volumes in WinISD
