How long does a brand new 1 farad capacitor take to charge fully?

i never ever charged my cap with that resistor thing..

used it for 3-4 years. never once had an issue.

just hook it up and go at it.

The time it takes a capacitor to charge fully is ~5*RC
Where R is the resistance used, if you don't use a resistor then it is the internal resistance of the cap, and C is the capacitance of the cap (1 farad)
