Experience with Excessive Amerage?

Anyone have any experience with excessive amperage? I was quoted 300 shipped for a new 200 amp alternator for my 02 focus which seems like a great deal. So anyone have anything to say about the company good or bad?

Considering there is no such thing as excessive amperage in real life outside of a short and seeing those purdy colors, I would check carefully... I do not see specs anywhere so it is hard to tell but if you can get a 200 A alt for your car that delivers at least half of it at idle plus runs at 14.6 volt operating voltage, hell... y not... If not, there is always Iraggi (minus the purdy colors)... I would call him first at least to have something to compare to...

I think the excessive amperage name is just stating the fact that they make alternators for applications where lots of power is required. If you look at the guys using their stuff, they look prett real, 6 Resonant Engineering MT-18's thats pretty insane.

with what at idle output and what max output RPM? There is a lot of shiitt out there that claims 200 amps output but it amounts to 60A at idle and 5000 RPM to achieve the max output. Did you call that place to get the real specs? Call them and find out if this price applies to 200A alt that puts out over 100 A at idle plus gets the max output at about 3000 RPM. If this is the case, then go for it. Otherwise, if you have to pay extra to get within these specs, they will nickle and dime you to death. What were the specs on Iraggi alts BTW? This is unusually high for iraggi stuff unless there is something weird about alt for your specific car... Do not jump to any conclusions until you get all the facts straight though...

Check out motorcityreman they make some pretty good alternators and the 200 amp ones put out 100 amps at idle.

good choice. Nathan is a great guy, QC is top notch and the build quality of the products as well as actual performance is outstanding...

not bashing Iraggi here at all, but i had an iraggi alt i replaced with an excessive amperage alt.. the iraggi literally fell apart (albeit under some abusive conditions).. the excessive is the same case alt, but it has 3 more bolts holding it together... my excessive puts out 14.6-14.7v at idle.. cant test it any higher than that right now because the car currently only can idle
