Sub Cutting out

Hi

My sub has recently been cutting out and playing a low rubbling sound (almost like it is blown). If i turn the system off then back on again after about 10 minutes everything seems to be fine again. This problem seems to be occuring more often, starting off as once a month to 4 times today! Any suggestions? The sub, a Morel Canon is being powered by a Linear Power 8002 and the processor is a Sony XES Z50.

Thanks

It the sub was blown, you wouldn't hear anything or it would be a scratchy distorted sound. The amp could be going out on you. Try getting a different amp to power the sub and see what happens.

To check the sub, bust out a multimeter and check the voice coil resistance and make sure it's close to what it should be. If you read open or too low, the coil could be on it's way out.

it is probably your amp over heating or you are pushing your amp too much. you should check your gains with a dmm.
