*CLOSED* FS Harman Kardon CA-260 BRAND NEW!!!!! Top of the line OLD SCHOOL!

NOW ON EBAY

I have an old school HK CA260. This amp is rated at 2 X 60 at 4 omhs, 2 X 90 at 2 ohms and 180 X 1 at 4 ohms.

Anyone who knows amps knows this one can power anything you have, from high end components to 12's or even 15's!

This one is brand new, in the plastic wrap and styrofoam protection as well. Comes with the original mint condition manual as well and even the paper mounting template, the registration/warranty card and service locations insert as well. Never been used, mounted, nothin'!!!!!!!!

Looking for $250 plus shipping, or will trade for an Alpine PDX 4.100. So, anyone who got a good deal on one of those can get a good deal on my HK.

Not familiar with the Alpine you are seeking - but I have a JL 300/4 to trade, if its what you're after.

Hey e28m5,

Sorry for the long delay, I checked for a while and nobody was replying so I kinda forgot about it.

I did have 2, but just sold one on Ebay, and the one I had in my car, the outputs went bad, so now I have none. I am going to take it somewhere to see why it went out, cuz it was brand new when Car Toys installed it, and one day after they put it in, the outputs went bad.

So, long story short, I don't have one available right now.

Good to hear from you - I do have a couple, but your new one intrigued me.

I am going to hook them up soon, and I think they are working fine - but I think the RCA's may be slightly loose.

Any tips on running these old amps? Its important to me because I am setting them up in a 1988 M5, and I am doing a period sound system (well the visible components at least)

Thanks - I may still be interested in CA 260's if you have any available ones in the future.

Sorry, no tips from me. I love the HK's too. I had one hooked up to my 165 KF Focals and it sounded so good. When that blew, I put a Zapco Z220 to them, which is still good, but not as good as the HK.

I really think the HK blew just by chance, not because of use or install and I think, again saying I think, as long as you have freq control on your head unit, you should be all good.

I have a buddy with 2 more, but they are not brand new.....whatya lookin at spending, I can ask him.

Hk Ca-260

depends on the shape of the amps I guess.

if they are working properly etc.

I think a range of $200 - $500 for the pair. $500 being good appearance AND performance -$200 being rough appearance AND performance. (I may pass on them if they are rough in appearance and performance!!)

What part of the country are they in?

Do you know of any old school 500 watt sub amps that may be available - HK, Zapco, Old Soundstream - along those lines. I'm going to run a JL 8w7 or 10w6 with it (depending on which one I can fit a molded enclosure under my rear seat) I was going to use a regular JL 500/1 under the back seat for the sub, and send the High Pass output to twin HK's- one for the left, and one for the right front diamond 6"hex's. The only thing that will be exposed is the HK's in the trunk, the Nak TD-500 in the dash, and I will retro-fy the 6" Hex Grilles to look more "period"

I have a pair of CA-260's already, but some back-ups would be cool to have.
Thanks

I am pretty sure sound function wise, they are pretty solid, cosmetically, from what I remember, they were not as good. I took em out of my truck and sold them about 10 years ago, so I haven't seen em in a while, but I do remember that the guy I bought them from painted over the HK logo for some reason.

I'll talk to my guy and see what he's looking for, if he wants to sell em at all.

I might be selling my Zap Z220 possibly to buy a PDX 4.150. Interested in that? It's rated at 275 W mono. It was knockin my 12, THD is like .05 or something like that.

The amps are in Seattle.

Zapco Z220

http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/Zapco_Z220/

Your amp is beautiful, based on the pics in Amp Guts, but I need more power for the JL 10w6 I have already.

Thanks - stay in touch, I'll post pics of the M5 build if I ever get it done!
