Memphis Power Reference

So I went to my local dealer and he is giving me a great deal on 2 Memphis 15-PR15D4 but i'm going to build the box, I have a good solid 5 cubic ft. in my blazer, he said that it's plenty of room but I thought the PR 15 needed more, am I wrong? If I have only enough room for 1 15", should I get 2 or 3 12"'s? Thanks,

So the Memphis subs would sound pretty good in the SQL category with 2.5 cu.ft. for each sub in a ported box? How many ounces of polyfill are you talking about?

So do you think I have enough room for 2 15's?
Maybe I should go with a couple 12's? Have you heard any of the power reference subwoofer in person?
I've only heard one 15 before and it slammed for the price that's for sure.

i've heard multiple vehicles with memphis subs, couldnt tell you what model - but they all sounded good.

last one i heard in person was a chevy astro minivan with a wall behind the back seat with 6 15's and it was shaking the entire van apart

Ha, awesome, well I have a JL Audio 15W0, i'm pushing about 150 watts rms, do you think 2 Memphis PR 12's pushing 250 watts each would be louder?

2 12" PRs would deffinently hit much harder than that one w0. With the 2-15" in 5ft3 ported specs say that they need 3 cubes a piece, So if you can fit 1 more cube in there you would be fine with the two 15s. But IMO they sound great in sealed enclosures. I would just put them in a sealed box.

i doubt you'd need even 2.5 per sub, my brothers mtx 7500s use 1.75 cubes per sub. unfortunately memphis doesn't list the t/s paremeters on their site so its hard to say what size would be best. i'd imagine anything between 1.5-2.5 cubes sealed would be sufficient, you might even contact memphis to see what they have to say.

Thanks Wagner, that's what i've been looking for. So do you think I should get 2 of the memphis 12's or up my budget and get 2 Alpines Type R 12's and get the CADENCE TX-A750D? I'm looking for some good SQL, if the alpines sound clean and hit harder, I should go for that, right?

IMO and I am sure alot of people will disagree but I don't think that the Alpines are worth the extra money, PRs are really good price for the quality that you get. And I would still say you can go with the 15s if you would like to.

Yeah, thanks for the input Wagner, btw, where did you get that list for the enclosure measures? I swear i've looked everywhere for something like that.

Oh ok, thanks a lot Wagner and yeah, i'm most likely going to take your advice and go for the memphis subs because they are great quality for the price.
Though i've measured everything and realize that I can't fit 2 15's unless I have 1 firing up and another firing a different way, so i'm probably going to go with 2 12's (2 12's should be louder than 1 15" anyway)
