Volvo HU-613 upgrade
Hello all, my wife has a 2002 Volvo S60 sedan with a stock HU-613 stereo. I want to upgrade this with another factory stereo that will fit back into the same dash area.
The one thing it MUST do (the whole reason for the upgrade) is that it must display the artist/title on FM. Is this even possible? If so, what model do I need to go with? Thanks in advance to all that read this. -Jake |

Not really a great idea. In all likelihood another volvo headunit will not even be compatible. Do your wife a favor and upgrade aftermarket. RDS is the system used to name artists and tracks from the radio, so you will need a deck with the RDS function.

Really, you don't think it would fit? I am thinking that the (HU-803 RDS) is what I would like to get her.

I wonder if it would work with her existing steering wheel controls and fit back and be factory and do RDS (Zachfeen, thanks for telling me about that btw) and all that stuff? -Jake |

Don't waste your money. Buy an aftermarket head unit. You won't regret it.

HU-613 swap out with HU-803
I appreciate the aftermarket comments, but I want to put a factory unit back in her car. Has anyone had experience with these two Volvo stereos?
Will the HU-803 directly swap (easy, simple, plug and go) with an HU-613 or do I need cables, wiring harness work, etc? -Jake |

no the hu 803 WONT swap. the 613 system only has like 4-6 speakers, the hu 803 is the premium sound and has 8 speakers i believe.( i have a 03 s60 with the hu 803)
i would do like suggested above and do an aftermarket radio, i have seen some very clean installs on www.swedespeed.com the RDS function only works if the radio station supports it, none of my local stations support it
