How to Remove Factory Radio from 1989 Mercedes-Benz 260E

I'm trying to remove the original factory radio from y 1989 Mercedes-Benz 260E. I have removed the two screws hidden under the ashtray, which enables me to remove the entire ashtray, something I need to do before I can get to the radio. However, Something is jamming on the top of the ashtray when I try to remove it. I must be doing this wrong. Any place I can go to for instructions on how to do this? Thanks.

If the radio is directly above the ashtray then there are two clips holding it in. If you look up under the hole where the ashtray goes you will see the clips, one on each side. Take a hook tool or pick and bend the clip down enough to slide the radio out. HTH.
