alpine 3554 amp....

does anyone have specs on this thing?

i just bought it used for 100 bux. seems in good shape, and it pushed a couple of atomic 15s pretty well.

if you could give me the power ratings, and how low you can drop the resistance, that would be great.

I tried doing a search for it and all I really found that had any info about this amp is here.

It's just a page that someone else put up, saying he had this amp...and he gave a few specs on it.

Sorry, but this must be an older amp...not much info on it out there.

I just installed my old alpine 3554
I ran it to two mtx 10" subs
I dont know if this amp defaults to 4 ohms but I hooked up each sub bridged with the voice coils wired in parrell. (DUAL 4ohm coils) I Think it producing more than 100 watts per channel. I dont even have the sensitivity turned half way up.

IT rocks!!!!
I bought this amp in 1992 and it has never had a problem.
I delivered pizza for 4 years with it so it has had plenty of use.
The first truck it was in I put over 280,000 miles and about 80,000 on my camaro that it was last installed in.
I almost bought a new amp to go in my new truck, I am glad that it didnt.
I am using a phoenix gold zx450 to run my other 4 speakers (75watts to each) I am very happy I think that this is the best set up I have ever had.

Unfortunatly Im a sucker for older gear cause it has nostalgic value. That being said the alpine amps , the older jap ones sound great! My very first amp was a 3522 pushing to jl 10w1's . It was awesome.
The 3554 is a pretty good amp, the 3555 legendary , and the 3566 ( i think that is the six channel one ) , well, i would wet my pants if i had a nice one ;-)
