Gain actually has nothing to do with subwoofers. Gain(A) is the ratio of the voltage output in relation to voltage input. The same is true with power Pout/Pin = A. If I have 25mW of input power and the output is 250W, then my gain is 250W/.025W = 10,000. Or in decibels, 10 log (250W/.025W) = 40dB.

My h/u has 2v outputs. My amp has 100mv - 1000mv input sensitivity. Where should I set my amp gains? What"s the differents between volts and mv?

First off, to answer your second question, the V in mV represents Volts, so 1mV = 0.001V, 100mV = .1V, and 1V = 1000mV.

Turn the gain all the way down on the amp and adjust the volume with your HU. As long as your volume isn't distorting you'll be fine.

wILL BASS, TREBLE , AND LOUDNESS INCREASE THE OVERALL OUTPUT VOLTS ON MY H/U OR IS 2 VOLTS THE MAX REGARDLESS OF THESE SETTINGS?

Music is very dynamic. The peaks can be very large or very small at the same time. Regardless of what the music is doing, the RMS value is what we use to apporiximate the signals value. Without any equaliztion, theoretiacally, the total output should be the same RMS value over the entire audio frequency range. When you change the eq settings, this will increase or decrease the voltage output of its respective band(subs, mids, highs). The loud button usually increases the gain of the bass and treble while keeping mids at the same value.
