Hi guys,

I live in India. I am planning to get a Skoda Octavia Laurin and Klement. http://www.skoda-auto.cz/ or http://www.skoda-auto.com/showroom/octavia/

The dealer told me that the car has a double DIN dash. Having this I was hoping to install both a CD player and a tape player in the dash so I could choose to play either CD or tape.

However Alpine and Blaupunkt both said that they dont make in dash CD players anymore only in dash CD recievers and I can install 2 recievers (one cassette and one CD together). I dont know any other manufacturer that even makes a good cassette player/reciever anymore.

However I feel that I can circumvent this by installing a cassette reciever and a DVD player and use the DVD player to play CDs. This also gives me the flexibility to add head rest monitors for the rear passeners at a later date.

Hence I have short listed 2 choices:
Blaupunkt: cassette reciever Madrid C72 or Bologna C52, in dash DVD player IVDP-01 plus a CDC A03 CD changer in the trunk

Alpine: cassette reciever TDA 7592R, in dash DVD player DVA 5210, plus a CHA S634 Cd changer.

Does this make any sense?

Hi navin i guess i am abit late in replying. But just recently i sold a couple of my friends a double din in Mumbai. I am in China guangzhou. I offered him a CASKA brand ver famous in America as awell as middle east. It has a 7"TFTscreen with touch screen. Can play DVD,VCD,ACD,MP3,CDR, ALSO HAS RADIO AND WORKS AS A TELEVISION ALSO. You can tune to the local channels in you country maybe i think Door Darshan or something like that. This model has 2 new features comes with a CAMERA which you can install at the rear bumber. So when you are reversing or something all you have to is press CAMERA on the screen and the camera comes on on your 7" screen The second new featrure is parking sensor. ONce you put the gear in reverse the sensors come on and guide you to park your vehicle. The sensor option can be put on on reverse on or all the time which will then be connected to your ignition.

Let me know if your interested.

And if possible find out some leads cause we have a new product that is an MP3 changer for the NEW honda accord. No changes are made in the main console just a cd changer attached in the trunk and all the controls are done from the main console.

Thanks,
Vinay Lulla.
