Subs and power

Can you create a faq (or I guess answer my question) about how to pair subs with amps? I know generally what goes into it, but I would like a more concrete grasp of it.

What are you looking for, exactly? The common rule of thumb is to match the RMS power of the sub and amp, then properly set your gains to ensure minimal clipping. Are you looking for something more in depth than this?

I think he needs to know more about impedance than about power matching.
