Amp slaving

Hello all, I'm a newbe here. I wanted to know if anyone knows anything about amp slaving, how does it work, how do you do it, etc. I have a LT 980/2 and a LT 1920/2 and I was told that I could slave them.......... Any help would be great, Thx. :confused:

Ok, I was told that you could run one amp off another if the first amp has an output. I was told that it was called slaving. I have a 2 PA LT1920/2 2 type R's that I want to run 1 amp to ea. Any idea about this method??? Any info would be great. Thx for your reply.

amp slaving is Called Bi-amping- what you need to do is purchase another amp the Exact same amp that you have, then you hook a RCA cable from the output of amp #1 to the input of amp #2 then there should be a switch on both amp saying (master and slave) amp #1 will be master while amp #2 will be slave, this will give you extreme power because you wiring to amps in parellel, you would then wire your subs like this: positive of sub to positive of amp#1, negative of sub to negative of amp#2,,,,, to wire the subs into 2ohms you would: Wire positive sub number 1 to positive sub number 2, negative sub number 1 to negative sub number 2, positive sub number 1 to positive amp #1 then negative sub number 1 to negative amp#2..

is it possible he could be talking about daisy chaining, which in this case you can run a mono amp and an amp in stereo to achieve a full spectrum of sound. And its nothing like strapping the amps.

not possible, look at it in context man.. he's got two of the same amps, most likely he's talking about slaving... and like thuggish said... extremely good power...

2 sub amps utilizing the phase switch

match the gains

use a y- splitter and run RCA's to both amps

flip the phase to 180 on 1 amp

wire the negative speaker terminals together

use the postive speaker terminals of the '0' phase amp for the positive sub leads

use the positive speaker terminals of the '180' phase amp for the negative sub leads

remember each amp see's half the load. so if you wire a dual 2ohm sub in series, each amp will be at .5ohm. turn it up and be careful ;)

I just ran this config the other day prior to reading this thread. I wish I would have found this earlier ;(

I have 2 of the exact same amps. I ran the rca out to the in on them and jumped the remote. I was going to do another power run from my battery but the shop sold me a splitter to jump from one amp to the other. Then I ran my subs one to each amp. The amps are rated at 550w rms at 2 ohms. My amps are not one ohm stable but I think there are seeing one ohm. (I dont push em to hard anyways) Besides the shop told me if I blew em they would replace them for the cost of shipping. This is not the same thing you guys are talking about is it? I never set an amp for master and the other for slave. I have to look for that switch but I dont recall seeing them. Ok so if I rewire them to be a unit then will I still be getting 1100w rms? I cant think of how to explain my set up other then two independent subs and amps. I think I'll try to redo this tomorrow.

I think I'll try to redo this tomorrow.No,that not what they are talking about they are talking about strapping amps (running 2 amps to make 1 amp).You have 2 subs and 2 amps.Thats how you should run it.I would not strapp them amps if you dont know how.The amps dont seem strappable.Im not for sure, the may make a bridging moduale for your amps.You shouldent need to strapp them.

the amps have to be 180 degrees out of phase of eachother
