Hello all,

I have a Premier Pioneer CD player model DEH-P520. This model has an auxiliary port with an IP-BUS connection. I found an IP-BUS to RCA adapter on CRUTCHFIELD.com, and I am wondering if there would be any power issues involved with using this adapter? Or any other issues I might not have thought of? All I want to do is convert the auxiliary IP-BUS connection to a standard 2.5mm jack, ultimately giving me the ability to plug my iPod into the 2.5mm jack. Below is the link to the IP-BUS addapter from Crutchfield.

Thanks in advance.

I've got one and I use it with my MP3 player. I love it.

Hi: I also have the Premier Pioneer In-Dash CD player model DEH-P520. I also want to connect my iPod through the auxillary port. How do I get behind the unit to install an IP-BUS adapter? I can't even remove the entire unit from the dashboard. I looked at the installation manual available on the Pioneer website but still have no idea how to do it and I don't feel comfortable dismantling the dashboard myself. The stereo was installed by CarToys. Thanks.

you have to get behind the deck, no way around it. bring it back to the place it was installed is my recommendation. why cant you get it out? its not hard if you have the two keys to yank it out with

Is this a better option than using the pionner ipod adapter? I've only read bad things about the adapter

I have it and love it. The only issue you will have with the I-Pod is that it does not charge it. The sound quality is perfect. It plugs in where you would plug in a Pioneer CD changer. Careful if you have a changer and use it. They sell two different adapters. One will allow you to still use the changer and I-pod-MP3 player. The other takes the place or the changer. Either way it blows away any FM transmitter. Go for it. thmbup

I meant is this better than using the CD-IB100 IPOD INTERFACE? I guess the drawback to the BUs adapter is you dont get to see the names of the songs on your radio and also cant control it either. Fumbling with the ipod while driving is not soemthing Im enthused about

I have an older Pioneer car stereo. I do believe there was an MD option in the menu on the front panel when you scroll between CD-FM-MD - I think there is an input at the back but my recollection of reading the manual I needed to get an optional adaptor. square looking one. Is this what they call an IP adaptor??

Can this be used to connect iPods??
