Sub Remote Vol Pot - Necessary?

I have an Infinity Basslink that I'll be getting installed off the HU, and since the HU has a dedicated Sub volume control already, I'm wondering if there's any point in using the remote level control pot that Infinity includes with the Basslink for attachment to your dashboard. Is there any advantage to using the direct Basslink level adjustment rather than the one built into the HU?

there is no need for the (bass knob), using the HU is fine. there is no real need for the knob other than just having a quick manual bass adjuster
