Just got here.
Likely I'll be considered old compared to most of you, but w'ever.
UBBForum-wise, I've mostly been into home audio, old Buicks, newer Buicks, and buying/selling car parts.
I just recently stepped up and bought a 99 Buick Park Avenue Ultra and I'm going to get serious about installing some quality car audio.
I'm in Portland OR (home of Phoenix Gold!) and God knows we have as many car audio retailer/installation joints as we do strip clubs - A LOT!
Some quality, some average, some AWFUL - both car audio and strip clubs...
My Park Ave is stock right now except for the rear deck speakers, which I replaced with 2 way 6X9 Infinity Reference's. That got the itch started...
For now, I'm staying with the stock deck and front speakers. I'll be adding a Kicker KQ9 pre-amp/eq to run an amp, subs, and a set of component speakers in the trunk, rear deck, and rear doors. I'm going for the "Sleeper System" - high performance sound but still looks stock.
Hopefully, I can get some direction as far as manufacturers and install joints to stay away from. Other than my KQ9, I haven't decided which mfr. to buy my amp, subs, and components from.
Look forward to getting edu-ma-cated!
Doug
